The top 5 Reasons to Move to Seneca South Carolina
Reason # 5: The Weather
We enjoy 4 seasons and all are pretty mild.
The coldest month is January with an average High temperature of 54 degrees and an average low of 35. Our warmest month is July with an average High temperature of 90 degrees. The Spring and Fall are my favorite times of the year. April and October each have an average high temperature of 74 degrees. Perfect for golfing or boating year round.
Reason # 4: The Location
Seneca is located in the northwestern part of the state, and is a fantastic location for your day trips and adventures alike. Clemson University is only 8 miles from Seneca and adds numerous sporting events, cultural and lifelong learning opportunities. Seneca is just 40 minutes from downtown Greenville, SC with hundreds of restaurants, falls park, minor league baseball, peace center for the performing arts and shopping. Asheville, North Carolina is 1.5 hours away and historic Charleston SC on the coast is just a shore 3.5 hour drive.
Reason #3: The People
The town of Seneca has that small town feel with only 8900 citizens. People feel safe, they love the small town values, lower taxes and cost of living. It's the people that you meet that make Seneca a great destination.
Reason #2: Outdoor Activities
If you love the outdoors, then you should give Seneca a look. We have three large lakes Jocassee, Keowee, and Hartwell. Numerous rivers Chattooga, Chauga, White Water, Thompson, and Horse Pasture all stock with trout. Miles of hiking trails, white water rafting, zip lining, and mountain biking are all close by. Oconee county alone has 150 waterfalls to explore.
Reason #1: Lake Keowee
The number 1 reason for people moving to the area is Lake Keowee. The crown jewel of the upstate of South Carolina. Lake Keowee is a man made lake and completed in the early 70's. Lake Keowee has some 320 miles of shoreline and is 18,500 acres in size. The lake is known for its Blue Ridge Mountain Views and its clear, clean, deep water.
